You Create You

Every morning before meditating lately I have been picking an intention card out of a deck that my friend lended me. They each have their little intentions on the front and a brief elaboration on the back that takes the intention into deeper detail. I have loved setting an intention for each day that is a little bit different than I would usually come up with on my own and Teddy has also been listening to me read it to him and from what I presume, going about his day with this intention in mind as well. Today was, “I practice the Science of Deliberate Creation.” On the back it continued by explaining, “Giving thought to anything is creation; giving deliberate thought to anything is deliberate creation.” I. Love. This. This whole idea is centered around the fact that we can create our reality by choosing what we allow our thoughts to be and practicing intention in those thoughts toward creating what we want to see in our worlds. So, I took this in and processed it this morning and then I went about my day. It was another busy day since this weekend is week 2 of Yoga Teacher…

Diary of Yoga Teacher Training: Day One

Yesterday was the first day of my 200-hr yoga teacher training. It was also the first day of an incredible journey. I decided that I wanted to do this training after coming back to consistency with yoga and meditation and for the first time ever I was able to calm my anxiety. Focusing on breath work, mindfulness and a daily practice has taken me from a very dark place to a place of light. By hoping to dive deeper into my own practice and wanting to teach others to have this same level of peace, I signed up for this training. But I was nervous. It was outside my comfort zone. (Or so I thought) I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know anyone in the room. Vulnerability, at it’s finest. But damn. It was incredible. And it was only day 1. I came home and looked at Teddy and told him, “I felt like I was home. As if all I have been wanting more of and searching for is coming together in a beautiful way.” I am so excited to be a student. To learn. To grow. This training is a blend of anatomy and philosophy. Having…

goal-setting minus the pressure

This week a small group of my beautiful coworkers and I took on some vision and goals at 8am. In the past at Lululemon, vision and goals meetings felt overwhelming to me, if I am being honest. Questions like “where do you want to be in 10 years” and  “who am I” felt like huge questions that I had no idea how to answer in the two minutes we were given to think on it. This time was a bit different, and I can’t wait to share with you what I discovered and the process my amazing friend took us through to get there. The process we took to writing goals was different than usual, but created a much less overwhelming experience for all of us. I wanted to write it out here in hopes that someone may be looking for some direction in their lives and may need a bit of guidance getting there. The sequence of events went something like this: Meditation, Ask a Friend, Values, Feelings and Desires, Goals, and Action. Now I’ll explain each one! Meditation First, we started with a clearing meditation. If you are looking for a place to access guided meditations then I would…

birthday outfit

I’ve had such a great/relaxing birthday week (yes, I’m THAT girl). On Saturday we went to see the Lumineers here in St. Louis and I can honestly say they are amazing in concert. Teddy and I had so much fun on our little date and snap chatted way too much. Other than working this week I was able to get lunch with some girl friends, do some shopping and get a few margarita’s to celebrate 25. I love my birthday but I also love being low-key and relaxing. This week was a perfect combo of the two! I stopped in at a little boutique called Pitaya on the loop here in St. Louis and picked up this outfit. I could have gotten so much stuff in there, they impressed me with how many cute options they had! I think I will be a frequent flyer there. They have a lot of cute stuff that is still budget friendly so I would most definitely check them out if you are looking for something that isn’t going to break your bank account in half. I linked everything down below for you all! As for today, I just got back from yoga and…

reflections + what’s to come

This year has been one for the books. It was filled with highs and lows, celebrations and surprises. We got married, we went on a honeymoon in Mexico, Teddy finished his Master’s degree and started on his PhD, my brother-in law and his girlfriend graduated, my sister-in law got married, I found out I am going to be an Auntie to 3 new babies, we moved to a new state again, I started working at Lululemon and I started this blog. Whew, that’s a crazy year. I thought I would reflect on the top 5 moments from this year and talk a little bit about what I am excited about for 2017 today. Top 5 moments of 2016: Marrying my best friend. This was long overdue and I am so thankful that we were able to have the wedding that we always dreamt of together. There are so many moments from that week that we hold near and dear to our hearts and can’t wait to tell our kids about someday. It’s crazy how much closer we have become in the last 7 months and I look forward to all the love we will share in our lifetime together. I…
