the wandering wishlist: anthropologie

Girls, please tell me I’m not the only one that loves to browse either a store in person or online for a little bit of retail therapy, even if you have no intention of buying anything?! I will often walk past a store in the mall with Teddy and say, “let’s go in, just to look” and walk aimlessly around finding beautiful pieces and excitedly sharing them with him. We love spending time just browsing things that we know are out of our budget but we act like we have really cool, expensive taste regardless. Does anyone else do that? We get so much inspiration just from those slow moments of finding things that we both love and talking about how our dream home would look or if the sky was the limit what types of things we would love to hunt for. We often will take that inspiration and head off to thrift stores and find amazingly similar pieces for cheaper but it all starts with the fun of wandering around thinking of what would be invigorating to get. Heck, I’m not even sure that if we had the budget we would spend it on this stuff but it sure…

ice skating at steinberg rink

As some of you may know, I am obsessed with ice skating. Playing ice hockey in college was one of the best experiences and nothing beats the feeling of stepping on a fresh sheet of ice to get a clear mind or full heart. At Lululemon we are all about finding ways to sweat outdoors this season and honestly, ice skating is the most magical thing for me. I remember growing up one of my favorite traditions would be when my dad would take us all up to our cabin at midnight to light lanterns around the pond and play hockey under the moonlight/stars. We would loose pucks in the snowbanks, only to be retrieved once the snow melted in the spring or our dog relentlessly dug them out. My dad took old school bus seats and put a board behind them so that we had a “goal” that forced us to keep the pucks on the ice instead of flying them at him which just made it all the more unique. I cannot wait to have little ones that play up at the pond and finish a whole day of skating & sledding with hot cocoa/homemade cookies. There are…

holiday colors + gratitude series

I think it is safe to say that I have enough deep beautiful red tones in my wardrobe right now but I am so happy about that fact! I love this time of year. I love the spirit that the holiday season brings about. Between Thanksgiving to Christmas to the New Year there is something so special and magical that is electric this time of every year that I appreciate on such a deep level. With that begin said, I picked up this top for the fall season but cannot wait to wear it during the holidays! The deep red color mixed with the subtle lace detail makes for the perfect top for a dinner party. For the holidays I will pair it with a sleek pair of black jeans or even a nice deep blue jean to dress it up a bit. I also picked up a few tops from Lululemon in this color and now I am beginning to believe that I have an obsession that must not be stopped. This week is going to bring a lot of opportunity for connection + self-development and I am overwhelmingly grateful for both of those things. I…

gratitude series// november 13, 2016

So remember when I wrote about coming to the blog every day and saying what I am grateful for, yeah I remember too; I swear! I have been going to bed earlier than normal and has thrown off my writing time but I promise my heart has been open and feeling an overwhelming amount of gratitude for all that is around me lately, even if I have totally sucked at consistently documenting it here. (apologies). This week I got the opportunity to interview for a position at Lululemon that I knew was out of my reach right now but wanted to put myself out there anyway. I was so thankful for the feedback that I received so that I could keep being the best version of myself possible and also to have such a great leader as my boss. She set me up with what’s next and I could not be more thrilled with where life is starting to head. I also had a few drinks at a really awesome place called Blueberry Hill with Teddy and a friend this week, for which I was so happy to connect with someone that understands both of our views of the world and life.…

gratitude series// november 9, 2016

Hello all. Today I am thankful for balance within my body. This is not something that often comes easy to me but today it hit me that although I have been working hard at fitness classes or yoga, I feel accomplished without feeling obsessed. I believe that this is due to setting the goal of sweating once a day instead of saying, “I want to have six pack abs,” or “I will win a competition.” Setting a goal to move my body and feel grateful for the chance to be able to run, stretch and feel centered is so much more grounding for me than to feel like I need a timeline, a result or a number to make me feel okay within within myself. I encourage you to try this out. If you are used to feeling like you will finally be happy if you are a certain weight or if you look a specific way and you are struggling to find that happiness/calm then find a way to set goals that include you moving your body, being grateful for what it can do for you and increasing your overall health through just simply sweating. Remove the guilt and…
