gratitude series

For the month of November I am starting up a series where I post about what I am grateful for each day. I started this blog in order to have a positive outlet for my creativity and I intend to start pushing myself more and more as I go along with this journey. I have been changing some things that have had a dramatically positive impact on my life and have made me feel filled up, happy and calm. I would love to share them all with you within this magical space with the hopes that you can find more things in your life that make you feel grateful for as well. A few of the changes I have made that have made me feel more in touch with my true self: I have committed to sweating once a day, everyday. Honestly this on its own has done so much for my mind, body and spirt. Lately I have done one HIIT workout one day and then the next day switch to a nice recovery yoga class. This has kept my body in a perfect balance and is helping me keep my mind and heart open and clear. I have…

just, create.

When I read books I frequently find myself becoming incredibly inspired. I am the type of person that is constantly looking for new ways to learn about the world and make myself and others better. I go over mountaintops and through deep valleys in life just as much as the next girl, but I can feel a transformation occurring; I intend to let my creativity thrive. I frequently hold myself back in this department. I compare, set rules on what I should do, overthink and doubt, but I am making the decision to stop that shit for a while and see what happens. What happens when you put yourself out there, again? What happens when you “just be” your true self? (Ugh, that phrase used to drive me crazy. How does one “just be” when you feel all over the place?) I say, “used to” for a reason. I am starting to get it, and am starting to open my heart back up to possibility. Open your heart, let yourself become whatever you are meant to become without overthinking the process. I am open to change, possibility and what I have within me. But also, I know that I have the…

halloween-ish

I’ll be honest, I’m not much of a Halloween person. I get scared easily enough without making a holiday out of it! This year, Teddy said if I came out with him so that he could get dressed up as the Joker (his favorite holiday) then he would be less of a Grinch about Christmas (my favorite holiday), SOLD. So I threw on a tiny bit of make-up and wore all black. That was my extent of getting dressed up but he really, REALLY killed the Joker costume. He has had a few things for the costume since college where he found it at St. Vinnies! Add some face paint and he was all set. Guys, it was freakishly accurate. Teddy’s Costume: St. Vinnies for the clothes. Facepaint from Wallgreens. He used my eyelash glue to make the scars. Hope you guys enjoyed this post! Happy Halloween.

red suede jacket

Hey guys! Happy Thursday <3. I want to thank you all for the love on my last post ! If you didn’t get a chance to enter into the giveaway, no worries, we still have time so check it out! As far as today, I am so excited to finally have this baby on the blog since it has been a staple for me this fall. This rusty/red suede jacket is so cute and easy to pair with a variety of looks. I have loved wearing it with a cute dress, blue jeans, black jeans, etc. There is something about taking a simple outfit and adding a kick-ass jacket that makes you feel like a total BA. Speaking of feeling like a badass, I just started reading “You are a Badass,” by Jen Sincero for the second time and it just rocks my world. If you need a great book that will make you feel brand new, check it out. I hope you guys have a great rest of your day! All of the outfit details will be linked down below. (Pictures taken pre-haircut by my sister Nicole.)                  Lol this picture just made us laugh, don’t…

JORD watch

Happy Tuesday everyone! I started off this morning in the park doing yoga with my friends and it was incredible (and chilly). Today I am so excited to share this post with you! First, I would like to thank JORD watches for sponsoring this post. I am thrilled about the opportunity to work with them because these watches are so beautiful! They have a wooden wrist band and the face is so chic and clean looking so it is easy to work them into any outfit.  The packaging is beautiful as well and I love that I have a place to keep it from getting damaged (since I am usually terrible with that). Teddy has a bit of a watch fetish but I was lagging behind his watch game, thankfully JORD helped me step it up in that area of my wardrobe. Yesterday we spent the morning in the park (aka every morning lately) and enjoyed the fall air taking pictures and walking our crazy dog. It has been such a nice change to have seasons again after living in Texas for a couple of years. I really loved how this watch blended into my cozy fall outfit seamlessly! The most exciting…
