the wandering wishlist: nordstrom sale

Today’s version of ‘the wandering wishlist’ is all about the Nordstrom Half Yearly sale. If you are new to the blog, let me get you up to speed on what ‘the wandering wishlist’ is, shall we? Each (usually) Wednesday I go through a specific brand or price point and will put together a group of things that caught my eye. I do not have any or most of these things. It is essentially similar to if you were at the mall and you walked past something you liked and told whoever is with you, “hey, this is cute.” No matter the price, I will link everything below. Nordstrom is having a pretty awesome sale until January 2nd so I thought I could put together a few of the items that caught my eye for your enjoyment (and to scratch my shopping itch). Remember that you have to push the arrow on the side of the pictures to view more options! Let me know in the comments what your favorite piece is or what you plan on getting at the Nordstrom sale. Happy Thursday, my loves.

reflections + what’s to come

This year has been one for the books. It was filled with highs and lows, celebrations and surprises. We got married, we went on a honeymoon in Mexico, Teddy finished his Master’s degree and started on his PhD, my brother-in law and his girlfriend graduated, my sister-in law got married, I found out I am going to be an Auntie to 3 new babies, we moved to a new state again, I started working at Lululemon and I started this blog. Whew, that’s a crazy year. I thought I would reflect on the top 5 moments from this year and talk a little bit about what I am excited about for 2017 today. Top 5 moments of 2016: Marrying my best friend. This was long overdue and I am so thankful that we were able to have the wedding that we always dreamt of together. There are so many moments from that week that we hold near and dear to our hearts and can’t wait to tell our kids about someday. It’s crazy how much closer we have become in the last 7 months and I look forward to all the love we will share in our lifetime together. I…

christmas eve

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I hope that everyone is having a great time with their families, just as we are. We have had a busy couple of days but it has been so great getting some time to enjoy our family! I am also so happy for all of the SNOW. It is definitely a white Christmas and I am so thrilled about that. I am so grateful to be surrounded by so many loving and caring people. Teddy and I are so very blessed to have the beautiful families that we do. This Christmas take a minute and tell them how much you appreciate them. I just wanted to stop in and say Merry Christmas from my family to yours <3 Ashley’s Outfit: Similar Pants Black Turtleneck Similar Sweater (found mine @ thrift store) Beanie Belt Teddy’s Outfit: Pants Similar Sweater Similar Shoes Similar Hat

the wandering wishlist: sweaters

Happy Wednesday (night)! Christmas is quickly approaching and as the temperatures drop all I can think about is getting cozy and warm. I love putting on a large sweater and cuddling Teddy with a glass of wine in hand. I also have been pairing up a lot of shorter sweaters with high waisted pants to go out and about! As you may know, each Wednesday I do a ‘wandering wishlist’ which is essentially similar to if you were to go to a store, browse around and anything you may think is cute (regardless of price) you notice. This is my online version of walking around thinking “hey that’s adorable,” which may usually follow with a, “holy crap that’s out of my budget.” Regardless of price I compiled all the sweaters that I thought were something I would love to incorporate into my wardrobe with this cold weather creeping in! (I do not own any of these). I just want to throw it out there as well that I have found great sweaters lately at thrift stores for $5-$10 if you are on a budget but still want to be cozy and cute! We just made it to our first stop…

metallic

Happy Monday! I cannot believe this week is Christmas! We have an absolutely insane week ahead with 6 different family Christmas parties to go to and 9 hours of driving between here and home. It is always such a blessing/curse that Teddy and I are from the same hometown. On one hand we get to see everyone and no one is left out. On the other hand, it’s madness. I suppose a little bit of madness keeps life interesting, right? I am beyond obsessed with these metallic booties that I found on sale at Nordstrom and could not wait to share them with you all! I think they tie together a more casual outfit with a bit of a flare and make you feel more dressed up than you actually are (always a plus). I will definitely be sporting these bad boys this week when I don’t feel like wearing heels or the occasion just doesn’t call for dressing up too much. Most of these outfit items are on sale right now so check them out! Everything is linked below. Let me know what you think of these in the comments and I hope you have a great last…
