national dog day

Apparently yesterday was national dog day, or so I was told. I think it is pretty funny how there always seems to be a day for just about everything but this one I was willing to celebrate a bit more because we love our crazy awkward, fun-loving dog Elzi. We spoiled her yesterday to a long day date at the park and found an area with no people so she could run around, chase squirrels and roll in the high grass as much as her sweet heart desired. Teddy and I sat back and watched her and found ourselves laughing at her little personality so much. It made me so excited for one day when we are watching our babies play at the park and the future we are so excited to build together. Someday this space will be filled with chubby babies and family things but for now, our pup is our only child so she is pretty spoiled. I loved bringing everything we needed for a little picnic in the park in this L. L. Bean bag that we got as a wedding gift from a great friend. It is so big and could fit everything we wanted…

black bralette love

Yesterday we spent some time walking around a neighborhood we want to move to once our short lease is up in our current apartment. It is very hard moving across the country and finding an apartment online when you can’t physically be there so we are taking our time finding the perfect next place! We want to find a 2 bedroom because then when we start having babies, it doesn’t feel crowded. Anyway, to the outfit! I wore this outfit to my sister-in-laws rehearsal dinner and got a lot of questions about what is going on with the black underneath! It is actually a bralette that crosses in the front from Windsor Store and then I paired it with this chunky black, velvet choker. I love this dress because it was under $25 from Forever 21 but looks like it could be For Love & Lemons, which is one of my favorite brands that my wallet cannot afford. Sunglasses are Ray-Bans, obviously. The lipstick I have been wearing daily is Kat Von D liquid matte in shade ‘Lollita’ and I am so obsessed with it! I hope everyone has an amazing weekend, I love you all. XOXO.

copper french press

This morning after Teddy left for work & school, I took time to treat myself to some coffee and snuggles with our not-so-cuddly pup. It was the absolute perfect morning and was so refreshing to slow down a bit before life starts to speed up again. After getting married, honeymooning, moving across the country and then going home for a family wedding, the relaxing nature of my life right now feels quite nice. I know that soon once we start to meet people and when I start working things will be different so I am stealing every moment of snuggles I can get (literally stealing because she doesn’t enjoy it much.) I posted this picture of our new french press on Instagram and got a few questions about it so I figured I would link it here! We have been using a tea pot to warm water and a french press for coffee lately instead of using a coffee maker for a couple of reasons: 1.) It’s much cuter in our kitchen than a huge bulky coffee maker. 2.) It gives the coffee a richer taste and often is a bit bolder as well. That could be because I tend…

wedding day// part two

Our wedding day was beyond our wildest dreams, it was our version of perfect. Here you will find out more about our ceremony, read our vows to each other and get all the little details. All pictures taken by our amazing photographer: Sam Hugh. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Once we were all done getting ready the girls and everyone went outside to start lining up. My dad and I stayed inside and we could watch through the windows and glass doors on the side! It was one of my favorite moments, and I’ll explain why after you check out how beautiful Vista West Ranch is. Our guests started to find their seats and the nerves heightened to the max. I remember my heart continuously fluttering and trying to take deep breaths but was filled with so much excitement. We only ended up having around 70 guests (our wedding was a destination for everyone but about 10 people) and honestly I wouldn’t change that for the world. Teddy and I are pretty calm people and don’t party often so we wanted an intimate/romantic feeling wedding. I was so thankful for the ability to talk to everyone and didn’t for a second feel overwhelmed. My bridesmaid Brooke…

a day in the park // 8-20-16

Yesterday was the perfect Saturday. We spent most of the morning FINALLY hanging things on the walls and making our apartment feel much cozier, you know like a home. After that and cleaning for a while we decided that we wanted to go and take Z (our ridiculous dog) to our favorite place so far in St. Louis, Forest Park. I’m so thankful that we live so close to this place, it’s like a sanctuary it’s so huge and beautiful. We took a few outfit pics since I have posted this dress before but I wanted to put a different flare to it. The last time I wore this I had about 10 more lbs. of hair and wore it with gladiator sandals, which I loved (see it here). But I wanted to give it a bit of edge with these black booties and black hat while still keeping the boho vibe that I love so much! Z didn’t appreciate us trying to take her picture either, but it made for a perfect little trip to the park. outfit details: dress: Forever 21 shoes: Target hat: World Market dog: great pyrenees/golden retriever/emotionless photographer: my hubby. <3
