slow days

It’s Friday! There is an ice storm hitting St. Louis today leaving us to stay inside due to slick roads and freezing temps and honestly, I’m not that mad about it. We have both been working from home today, snuggling with Z and listening to records on repeat. Teddy got me this record player for Christmas this year and I am beyond obsessed. Not only does it set a certain type of mood to actually play a vinyl record instead of Spotify but it also has been so much fun going to record stores and hunting for tunes that will fill the entire apartment with love and bliss. I have been obsessed with The Civil Wars for years and am bummed they are done making music but super happy that I found their album! I love days like these. The slow nature of them along with the unexpected productivity that comes about when you have a free mind to do whatever you please. There is magic in these days. I hope that everyone has a safe and happy Friday. Stay warm <3 xo-ash

fluffy jacket

Z always comes with us to shoot and is so adorable while she waits. (Sometimes she will bark at us though- not so adorable) Welcome to Wednesday! Instead of a Wandering Wishlist this week I decided to feature this amazing jacket I picked up from Shop Jessa Kae. I have been crushing hard on all of the fluffy jackets that have been all over my Instagram feed lately and had to pick one up for myself. So far this week has been really amazing for me. I have been focusing on making decisions for myself and for things that are better in line with the vision of my life. It felt like a huge weight off my shoulders to finally say, “this is what I want and this is what I’m going to do about it.” I think so often we get caught up in what we think is best based off of the circumstances around us instead of listening to what we truly want. I have been thinking for years now of starting to vlog on YouTube and I think that now is the time I am going to finally start. I just never want…

Happy Sunday, my loves! I love Sundays. Is anyone else with me on that? I love the slowness, the time to unwind and recharge before another busy week and the aura that Sunday always carries. Today we are going to be getting caught up on work (and blogs, yay!) shooting some new outfits and most likely reading, a lot. I am still slowly making my way through “Ask and It Is Given,” and loving the practice of waking up or winding down with that in hand. It is a good reminder to connect with my true self and true intentions for life every single day. I have been working on staying in my own lane lately and not comparing myself to others and it really has been making a big difference in how I feel. It is time that we embrace our insecurities and the things that make us feel inadequate and we step into the life we were meant to live. There are so many things that I want to improve upon in my little slice of the internet on this blog but I have to have patience and know that it will come. I think when we…

the wandering wishlist: asos sale

Hello my loves! Happy Wednesday! This week I decided to do a little gathering of items from the sale that asos.com is having right now. I am a huge asos lover and will spend many nights scrolling through their site looking for cool pieces to incorporate into my wardrobe. My favorite part about them is that there are so many options and a wide variety of price ranges. You can find more ‘high-end’ options or extremely affordable staples in the same place. Right now they are having a sale up to 70% off so I thought I would put together just a few of the things that stuck out to me! These are all things that I thought were cute and would definitely wear. I will most likely do a more thorough post about asos at some point because there is SO MUCH good stuff but for now I wanted to give some options from the sale! Have a great night!

Hello my loves! Tonight I got dressed up, had intentions of going to dinner with Teddy to celebrate New Years and then we both decided to go to the store instead, get a ton of really bad food and stay in watching movies the rest of the night. I know, I know, wild. It has been so much fun though! We love hanging out with each other and it doesn’t really matter what we are doing in order to enjoy time together. You would think after 10 years that would change but luckily, it’s only gotten stronger. So we have stayed in, at way past capacity and are about to watch “Age of Adaline.” I hope you all have had a great night so far and stay safe tonight! Happy New Years, friends! Let’s make it the best year yet. pants shoes similar bodysuit jacket Cheers to an amazing 2017! May it be one of growth, style and wanderlust.
